Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Q1: Does the Army use the online certificate for Recruitment?
The electronically generated certificate is valid; however, some military agencies require a printed “Appendix Format” signed by a Sarpanch and a Tehsildar. Therefore, it is wise to have both types of certificates available to avoid problems.
Q2: For how long is the Unmarried Certificate good for?
It is good for 6 months after it has been issued; this helps ensure that the certificate will be current, as marital status can change.
Q3: May I apply in person?
Most Tehsils now require that you complete the process online at Jansugam. If you cannot access this portal, the Tehsil office may still allow you to drop off your application and supporting documents at their office, but they will most likely require that you upload the documents online at some point during the processing of your application.
Q4: Must I have an Affidavit witness?
You may need to have an Affidavit witness (Lamberdar or Chowkidar) depending on the local notary, but you only need to provide your documents for the online upload.
Q5: What happens if my application is not approved?
The reason for not being approved will be noted on the portal (e.g. Unclear Documents). You will be able to correct the errors and submit a new application.
